Soccer & Sporting Excellence Academy
Soccer & Sporting Excellence Academy has been established since September 2006, and we have provided after school sports clubs and holiday camps throughout this period. As a company we offer a variety of different options to cater for all your sporting needs, ranging from After School Clubs, PE Lessons, Birthday Parties, Fun Days, 1-2-1 Coaching Sessions, Football Development Centre’s and Team Training. We started off predominantly coaching football and we have gradually progressed and developed into a football and multi-sports coaching company.
Ian Howell [Company Founder & Director] - "Over the years I have gained a wealth of experience in helping set up and manage football clubs and camps at a number of professional and semi-professional clubs in the UK as well as working and coaching in the USA.
Whilst playing semi-professional football for nearly 20 years,
I would often work the summers coaching and managing football camps across various states in the USA and in my time there, I worked for several companies including North American & Major League Soccer camps, UK International Soccer & Next Gen USA.
With over 33 years of coaching in the UK and abroad, I felt confident I could expand the company into a programme that caters for all abilities.
For the last 16 years I have been coaching and managing at an elite level within a Premier League Academy helping develop their players progress into professional football at senior and international levels. I have also continued to work within grassroots and semi-professional football clubs, alongside working for the FA as a coach developer and also managing a college academy programme for 16-19 year old players.
This has helped me support our coaching team as they develop on their coaching pathway and continue to build a company providing elite sports coaching.

At Soccer & Sporting Excellence, your child’s welfare and enjoyment is our number one priority. Every session is designed to allow the children to experience different sports, have fun and learn new practical skills. Each coaching group allows the children the opportunity to socialise and make new friends in a safe and positive environment. Our experienced staff are FA qualified, DBS checked and have first aid and child safeguarding certificates. Our coaches are committed to promoting the benefits of a healthy lifestyle by engaging the children in sport and by helping them develop and enhance their skills.
